Barangay fiesta in the Barangay, where there is an overall ambiance of merriment. Many different activities occur in the days or weeks leading up to the fiesta. These include beauty contests, discos, balls, church services, street parades and other entertainment.
Feast is a tradition of Filipinos and the time of reunion and reuniting with friends and relatives. Before, you can enter any house and eat. Home owners call all the passers by to eat and join the feast...but nowadays few only is still practicing that. They have selected visitors and not open house anymore, maybe due to economic crunch and personal security.
Our Barangay Fiesta for the first time was celebrated last December 8,2009. Visitors were confused of the real date of our Barangay Fiesta...well it depends to the Barangay Captain ,I jokingly answered. From June 4, to first Saturday of June and now December 8. Well they said it was the birth date of the Patron....any certificate of Birth? This coming June confused visitors from afar will surely come. For me..anybody could Celebrate the way they wanted and the date of their choice... L O L. Kidding aside the constantly changing of Feast Day had brought not only confusions but arguments to the residents... and I really not liking it....
Well what still important is our perception of Celebrating Feast...the way to give back to God, to feed those who are hungry and give water to all thirsty.
To some it can only just one Tradition...but for me it is a special occasion for our God.
